ADVCT Scooters is a pretty recently
started team out of Washington by a few friends who ride for Lucky Scooters,
James Gee and Evan Yamada. They generally rider at a skate park in Sammamish
Washington, but they recently have been going on trips with their team around
the states. They have such a great team, including Parrish Isaacs, Blake
Bailor, etc., and they are always releasing new welcome edits with great
riders. Most of the team used to or still does ride for Lucky Scooters, one of
the original companies in the game, and they made them what they are today.
They’ve been riding for Lucky for so long, and they have such a great range or
tricks and also lots of experience, which is why they’re able to keep up such a
great new company. They don’t have any parts for purchase at the moment, but
they sell apparel including socks, sweatshirts, shirts, beanies, etc. Their
welcome edits are constantly coming out, featuring new riders with all
different styles, and unique scootering personalities. I look forward to
watching them grow in the future as a team and a company, and hopefully they
will make some signature parts soon, and keep adding new riders.

Tilt Scooters
Tilt Scooters is one
of the biggest scooter teams in today’s community, and it consists of 11 worldwide
riders. Some from the states, and from Europe, they have a team consisting of
all different styles and they all are so sick to watch. A couple months ago,
they came out with the Tilt DVD and had a huge premiere for it. Having seen the
DVD, I can honestly say this full length has some of the best parts of all
time, and it is one of the most enjoyable videos. Even to today, some of these
parts are better than the parts that are currently being released by other
teams. Tilt also makes some of the stronger parts of most companies, and they
not only make parts, but great Tilt apparel. The parts they sell are some of
the nicest looking parts, and are also extremely durable for a great price.
They just came out with new wheels which look very cool, and should be
available for purchase soon. At the Tilt warehouse, clips are constantly
filmed, and they just released a ware house video a few days ago. No matter
what, Tilt will always be looked at as one of the best companies to purchase
parts from, but also to look forward to new footage from their riders.
Isaac Miller
Isaac Miller is from Cascade Iowa, and
has been riding scooters since 2009. Isaac is known for his crazy fast
progression, and for his ability to constantly break parts no matter how strong
they are. Isaac Miller is sponsored by Tilt, Satori, and Sky High. Isaac
specializes in big gaps, and smooth combos and transitions. He generally used
to be known for his videos with Jordan Jasa, but he is now known for his part
in the Tilt DVD, which was absolutely mind-blowing. He constantly releases footage
in different video parts and instagram clips. Isaac started riding scooters
because in Iowa he said there’s not much to do besides farming or going to
skate parks, so he tried scootering. Isaac has a great mix of street riding,
but also a good park flow and always finds a way to ride anything that has the
potential to be ridden. He recently appeared in an Elyts trip video in LA, and
got some really sweet clips along with the rest of the Elyts team, and he is
always such a joy to watch. Isaac never stops learning new tricks, and he
really has a huge influence on the scooter community, because of how long he
has been riding for. You never know what to expect when watching his videos,
because he is always trying new things, and bringing lots of never before seen
tricks to the table. A video from Isaac is always looked forward to and his
footage is always too crazy to handle.
Parrish Isaacs
Parrish Isaacs is a fairly new rider to
the scooter community, becoming popular when one of his videos was posted to
the Inside Scooters Blog a little less than a year ago. He is out of Vermont,
and generally rides by himself, in a low populated community, with a vacant
skate park. Parrish has a real unique style, bringing switch tricks, new rail
combos, and a whole new style to the sport. Parrish is a part of several groups
and teams including ADVCT, and Basic Bunch. Parrish is known throughout the
scooter community for his long hair, small bars, and his peace and love type of
attitude. Although Parrish is fairly new to the sport, and a young gun, he
still has an influential hold on the community, and has made many appearances
in videos including the full length, “The Philly Files.” Parrish recently came
out with a Spring Recovery video filmed by Michael Mankong, who took a trip up
to Parrish’s hometown a few weeks ago. In the future I can assure you Parrish
will just be getting better and better, always bringing something new to the
table and revolutionizing the sport. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Parrish
make more appearances in huge team videos, and maybe even get picked up by
another team.
Proto Scooters
Proto was founded in 2008 as one of the first scooter
companies to start making their own, reliable parts to sell to the scooter
community. Before proto there were only
the little puny razors scooters that would break and snap the first time you
would have to try and do a trick on them. Andrew Broussard founded Proto
because of this frustration and ended up creating one of the most successful
scooter companies in the world. Not only did Andrew Broussard start Proto, he
also created a new type of Compression for scooter riders which now has a legal
patent by the United States Government. As of today Proto makes Decks, Bars,
Forks, Wheels, SCS, and Clothing. Proto
also sponsors riders and puts out full length videos including all of the
riders every 2 or 3 years. The people the ride for Proto right now are Zack
Martin, Dylan Kasson, Alex Steadman, Chema Cardenas, Elmer Ferriars, Jackson
Manzie and Andrew Broussard himself.
Addict Scootering
The scooter company addict was created by Kevin Denmay after
he created the company District and Ethic. Addict was supposed to just be an expansion
of District with more advanced and different styled parts but it turned out to
be a huge success. Addict makes handlebar grips, handlebars, clamps, forks,
headsets, bolts, wheels, bearings, and brakes. Addict parts are known for being
lighter than any other parts but still being just as reliable. The addict team
consists of riders from all of the world such as Mathias Hoist, Tobias Mayers,
Logan Fuller, Matt Mckeen, Johann Morreau, Michael Cajas, and Alex Peasley. The
addict scooter team is known for being one of the best if not the best. Each
rider on the team has their own signature bars and deck that is available
online. In 2012 they put out their full length Titled “So- What” which consists
of an hour of straight street riding from the USA all the way to Australia. People
were amazed by this full-length because of the amazing editing, clean riding,
and huge bangers.
Matt Mckeen
Most people that are involved in the Scooter community know
Matt Mckeen as one of the best street riders of all time. From double whipping Wallenberg
to truckdrivering Love, he has definitely made a name for himself. Matt was born in Virginia and now lives in Philadelphia,
recently he put out a Full-length street film named “The Philly-files” which
featured himself, Yara Haynes, Greg Cohen, Logan Fuller, and Steve Fales. His part
in this full-length was beyond anything anybody had ever seen, not only did he lip
slide a 15 stair handrail but he did half-cab whip into a cobblestone bank. I
have only seen people ride cobblestone hips or ramps in skateboarding but for
him to be able to translate that to scootering has influenced many other riders
to become more creative in their own riding. Matt is sponsored by Addict
Scootering and has his own signature parts such as handlebars and a deck.
Recently Mckeen has been in El Paso filming with the Elyts team for an edit captivating
all of the amazing spots El Paso has. Also he was recently sponsored by a new
company named VEX which creates shoes for people who scooter.
Dylan Kasson
Many people in the scooter community know Dylan Kasson as
one of the “OG’S” in the sport of scootering. He was featured in many scooter
movies such as The Tilt Video, Proto Catalyst, Proto Armageddon, and Peachy
crew “Honey and Jekem”. Dylan Kasson grew up in Oho and is one of the most
influential scooter riders in the Midwest. As of now Kasson rides for Satori,
Proto, and Sky High Scooter Parts. Even though he is not officially on the Tilt
team he has been a huge part in the creation of The Tilt Video.
In
2010, Dylan Kasson’s main sponsor (Proto Scooters) released one of the most
influential videos in street freestyle scootering history which is Proto
Catalyst. In this video Dylan Kasson had a two song section that was 8 minutes
long. After watching this film myself I was extremely influenced to film street
edits and it has forever effected my riding.
The main reason I feel that I and other people felt so moved by this
film was because of Kasson’s style of riding. In his video “Forefront” (a
documentary about himself) he talks about why his style is so unique and this
is because when he first started riding nobody
else was riding so he had to make up his own tricks and didn’t have any other
people to watch or look p to which is what led to his style.
